While many of us are awaiting the launch of the Galaxy S III in India, many still feel a dual-core Galaxy device is sufficient for their needs, providing the right performance versus price value.
However, there remains the question of just how up to date the OS is. The Galaxy S II, which till recently was shipping with Gingerbread onboard, is still selling well.
Recent user reports however, say the device is now available on retail shelves with Samsung’s official Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware, out-of-the-box.
The units with ICS pre-installed are reportedly those shipping with an April 2012 import date, and it stands to reason all later devices will also bear the new OS.
While Samsung has started rolling out the ICS update for its devices in most territories, the update has yet to be made available to Indian users.
