Google has released latest set of Android version statistics. The updated figures show Android Ice Cream Sandwich is rapidly growing, while Gingerbread has finally started to slow down.
Google's latest figures show ICS is now running on 4.9 percent of devices, which is up from 2.9 percent last month. Gingerbread, which is running on most of devices, is now on 64.4 percent of phones and tablets. Honeycomb's market share stands at 3.3 percent, while Froyo enjoys 20.9 percent share.
The figures suggest ICS will continue to grow in the coming month as more manufacturers will roll out ICS updates for their device. The growth of ICS is also likely to be driven by the launch of new Android smartphones running on the latest Android platform
Last month, the figures showed Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS was growing at a good pace but Gingerbread continued to be the top Android platform. ICS was running on about 3 percent of Android devices, as per previous month's report. Also read our Android ICS update: Which phones will get it, and when
