Hundreds of photos of the weekend's “supermoon” are being uploaded to Google+.
The photos feature the full moon in all its glory and have been taken in places as far apart as Cairo, Bangalore, Seattle, Sydney,Turin and the International Space Station.
“This will be the closest full #moon to earth since January 1912,” explained G+’ers of the event. “The moon will appear larger in the sky than at any time. This event is also referred to as ‘Supermoon’.”
News reports of a New Jersey “tanning addict” who reportedly attempted to take her young daughter into a tanning bed have started heated discussions about the pros and cons of solarium tanning.
Google Plussers are also joking about overly tanned individuals and posting “Tanning. It's like a human waffle maker” and “Wasn't there a dark version of Google Plus?”
The first week of Portrait Poker -- a new photography “game” curated by Google+ users Kelly-Shane Fuller and J. Rae Chipera -- has commenced and Plussers are posting their best portrait shots on the social network hoping to win.
While there is no official theme for the first week, photos of kids and weddings have arisen as popular trends with people posting photos along with the hashtag #PortraitPoker.
iPhone news continues to flow across Google+. Plussers are posting videos of a next-generation iPhone prototype, iPhone 5 rumor roundups, a video of Siri’s hidden “disable” feature and a chart that compares the iPhone 4S with a Galaxy S II and a stone.
